How To Plant Beetroot In Minecraft?
Beetroot is tremendously healthy for our health and nutrition, and although that is not going to matter in Minecraft since there is just pure hunger and we are going to eat everything (except of course the pufferfish).
Farming in Minecraft is a process of making farms or even factories in a way, of food items, obtained either directly or indirectly. Now we can farm a lot of things, from wheat and watermelon to beetroots and sweet berries.
So that brings us to the topic of today’s discussion, the beetroot. Farming/growing/planting beetroot in Minecraft can give us a sustainable nice supply for the long run.
This will ensure our food supply does not end. So let us find out about beetroot and its plantation and farming.

How To Plant Beetroot In Minecraft?
Beetroot in Minecraft can be planted and get farmed just like we can do with wheat. Now making farms can be a little troublesome sometimes if we run over them, but until then, let us stick to the beginning itself.
-
Requirements
Before we start our procedure, let us look at the items that we are going to need for our task.
- Shovel
Shovel which is used for digging will be the first thing we need.
- Stone Hoe
A farmer’s tool, as we are going to do some farming, is needed by us.
- Water Bucket
For without water there is no growth, we are going to need buckets to transport it.
- Beetroot Seeds
Of course, how can we plant beetroot without beetroot seeds themselves?
Now that we know everything we need, we can start our quest.
-
Shovel
The shovel comes under the group of tools like a sword, pickaxe, hoe, etc. They are built with sticks combined with the item that the shovel/sword etc needs to be made of, for example, wood or cobblestone or gold or diamond.
So for the shovel, which we will prefer wooden or cobblestone since we need to only break dirt blocks.
In the crafting table, we will place one block of wood plank or cobblestone in any square of the top row, and then simply put two sticks in two squares directly below it.
Now that we have a shovel, let us now get us to make a hoe.
-
Hoe
The use of a hoe in Minecraft, just like the way it is a farmer’s tool, is to cultivate the soil, as we will need for the plantation of the seeds. So let us get into making a hoe in Minecraft. Â
For making a hoe in Minecraft, we will follow the same process as making a shovel. The one difference that makes a shovel into a hoe is just the addition of one extra block of the desired material. Let us see how.
For example, in making of a wooden hoe(which is enough for our work, as we don’t need diamond tools for farming), we will place two sticks in the crafting table, and two blocks of wood planks adjacent to each other, above the sticks.
-
Water Bucket
Once we have our land’s structure ready, we will need to have water flow around to make the crops grow. So to bring water, we will need a bucket of water. To make one bucket of water, the process will be like this.
Take 3 iron ingots, and place them in the middle squares of,
Left side column, right side column, lowermost row.
The result should be like this.
Once ready with the water bucket, we will move on to our final step, making the land ready to put seeds in.

Planting the Beetroot
Now before we have our land ready to get planted with the seeds of beetroot, we are going to make it cultivatable and water supplied. To do so, the conventional method is like this.
Dig in a straight line as long you need your farming to be, then fill it with water. It should like the way shown in the picture below. Now as we have made shovel earlier, this will be the place where we use it.
Now it should be known that any crop soil that cultivates which is directly in contact with this little water hole of ours is able to grow the crop on it.
Once done with the water, simply then cultivating the land can be done.
For that, take the hoe that you made out of wood, and right-click with it to cultivate the soil.
With that being the last step to worry about, we can now move on to the last step, finally planting the seeds in the soil.
Now, in all the blocks that we have cultivated using the hoe, simply use the beetroot seeds and place them on them using the right-click and that’s it!
That will be the end of planting beetroot in Minecraft. As for them growing into complete big beetroots, we will need to invest some time.
We can do so by simply either hunting around, making our buildings, houses bigger, or spending nights mining for diamonds and lapis lazuli.
Conclusion
So this was our detailed and easy-to-go guide for planting beetroot in Minecraft. Now obviously we can not literally plant beetroot, so we are going to rephrase it to something like, how to plant beetroot seeds in Minecraft since seeds are what get buried in soil and grow into plants.
Unlike wheat, we can eat the beetroot directly and also use it for feeding pigs.
